SUN DAMAGE

Over time, the sun's ultraviolet (UV) light damages certain fibers in the skin called elastin. The breakdown of these fibers causes skin damage and can result in skin that sags, droops, is discolored and/or doesn’t quite bounce back after it has been stretched. The skin also doesn’t heal as quickly and is more susceptible to bruising. Sun damage isn’t always visible in your younger years, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there; It makes its appearance later in your skins natural aging process.

Although nothing can completely reverse or undo sun damage, there are many options that will heal the skin and repair some damage. Aside from treatments, the best thing you can do for your skin at-home is to protect yourself from the sun - no matter your age. Cover up, wear a hat, and always use an SPF daily.

Our Recommendations for Sun Damage: IPL Treatments, Chemical Peels, and Microdermabrasion.
